Deacon Dan was ordained to the permanent Deaconate on June 10, 2007 by Archbishop Marcel Gervais and was appointed to Resurrection of Our Lord Parish until his re-assignment here at Good Shepherd in August 2017.

While at Resurrection of Our Lord, Deacon Dan’s ministries included Baptism/prep; Liturgy of the Word at Funeral Services; celebration of weddings; liturgy of the Word services at Seniors’ residences; and Ministry with the elderly and bereaved.

 Since coming to Good Shepherd, Deacon Dan’s ministries will see him involved in Baptism, as well as being a Chaplain at Amica and Blackburn Lodge Seniors’ residences in support of Father.

In the Diocese, Deacon Dan is a part-time Chaplain in the Veterans Pastoral Outreach Program of the DND/VAC Centre in Ottawa. He is also the Chaplain for the Association of Veterans in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force, Ottawa.  Deacon Dan is retired Military Police and a Canada Post Security Branch Manager with 34 years of combined service. With his wife Dee, he is also involved with the Ottawa Cursillo Movement and is the Financial Chair for the Archdiocese of Ottawa Council of Deacons.

Deacon Dan and Dee have two adult daughters, two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
