At all Masses last weekend our parish welcomed Kate Keenan as the new Good Shepherd Parish Youth Ministry Coordinator. Kate is looking forward to engaging the youth in the parish and there will be future notices in the bulletin and on the website with information on youth activities. Parishioners are asked to keep Kate and the parish youth ministry in your personal prayers as they commence their activities. Tickets for the CWL 40th Anniversary, on Sunday Sept. 29, are now available. There will be a CWL member at the back of the Church after each Mass. Ticket cost of $40 includes a wonderful hot and cold buffet, entertainment and a few surprises, following the 11:15 Mass of Thanksgiving. Members can also obtain their tickets at our General Meeting on Sept. 10. We hope you will come out to show your support and also to have a plain old fashioned Sunday afternoon good time!!

This is the time where we celebrate the 21st anniversary of the dedication of our church; our faith community gathered for liturgies and weekend Masses in school gyms since 1976. As you well know, I have been battling with the loss of my voice for over a year now, with basically no improvement and am no longer able to carry out the majority of my ministries. So, it is with great sadness that I have tendered my resignation to Archbishop Prendergast, asking that I be relieved of my assignment here as of September 1.

We are pleased to once again offer the Good Shepherd Parish CWL Scholarship, in the one-time amount of $300, which will be offered in June 2019 to a male or female parishioner graduating from grade 12. Application deadline is Friday, June 19th, 2019.

This year we welcomed 47 children who received their First Communion and 44 children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The Parish Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 09 June 2019 in the Social Space, following the 11:15 am Mass. A light lunch will be served.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka will be holding a memorial service at Good Shepherd Parish on Sunday, April 28 at 6:30 pm to honour the victims of the April 21 attack. Archbishop Terrence Prendercast will be the presider. After the memorial mass, there will be an inter-faith service. All parishioners are invited to show our solidarity with the universal Church.
