The High Commission of Sri Lanka will be holding a memorial service at Good Shepherd Parish on Sunday, April 28 at 6:30 pm to honour the victims of the April 21 attack. Archbishop Terrence Prendercast will be the presider. After the memorial mass, there will be an inter-faith service. All parishioners are invited to show our solidarity with the universal Church.
Father Virgil and the Good Shepherd Parish extend thanks to all those who made it possible to beautify the Church with Easter Flowers. Please keep the prayer intentions of those who generously provided flowers in your prayers this Easter Season.
Easter Vigil Reception - All those who are planning on attending the Easter Vigil are invited to bring along a plate of cold finger foods to share at the reception that follows the Vigil. The reception is a time where we gather to personally welcome all those who are newly received into the Church, as well as gathering to rejoice following the Easter Vigil Mass – a wonderful conclusion to the rich liturgy that is a highlight of our Liturgical Year. Members of your Pastoral Council will be accepting your contribution anytime after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday evening 20 April 2019.
April 28 is Divine Mercy Sunday. We will observe Divine Mercy Sunday here at Good Shepherd parish from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. There will be Eucharistic Adoration, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Readings from The Diary of St. Faustina, Veneration of the Image and Confessions (Fr. Virgil). Come, bring a friend and experience the power of God’s Divine Mercy. Saint John Paul II stated that Divine Mercy is “God’s gift to our time”.
